Xercise4Less, mentored by non-executive director Neil Ewin, recently got involved in the national Sport Relief event.
The fundraising effot was co-ordinated from the flagship Leeds Branch head office and run by the operations managers in each individual branch. Xercise4Less Marketing Graduate Liam Dawes kindly answered some questions for us about the event.
Says Liam, "The idea to do Zumbathons at the clubs came from our Zumba Instructors at Wakefield. The idea was so good we all ended up doing it!"
Throughout the company, we raised over £600.
Q2. Did you have a funds target?
We didn't really have a target as such, the main thing was to get involved. This is our first year and therefore our first bash at supporting Sport Relief so we’re all fairly proud of what we achieved.
Q3. Do you have a funds target for the next Sport Relief?
We don’t currently but I think we should have a target for next year, using our 2012 total as a benchmark to build on.
Q4. How many members of staff got involved?
At the Leeds branch there were around five members of staff from management and admin, including myself, plus our fitness Instructors. There would be similar staff involvement at our other branches as well.
Q5. Which branch got the best result in terms of funds raised?
Without a doubt our Wakefield branch had the best result, raising over £500.
Q6. Are you pleased with the funds and awareness you raised for Sport Relief?
We’re very pleased with what was raised, and the response received. We’re definitely going to try and improve on this for next year though!
Q7. Will you be running any other fund raising events in the near future?
Yes! We have a Charity Boxing Event coming up towards the end of April which DLA Piper are organising with us, and together we’ll be raising money for the Alzheimer's Society.
Q8. Finally, what was your favourite moment from this year's event?
Myself and another instructor did 4 hours of Zumba during the Zumbathon which was pretty exhausting but great fun!
